Caught in the Net

Father Bruno Ciceri
At 12:30pm today, at the Holy See Press Centre, there was a Meeting Point held with journalists in order to present the XXIV World Congress entitled Caught in the Net, an initiative sponsored by the Apostleship of the Sea.  This gathering is taking place in Kaohsiung, Taiwan from 1 to 7 October 2017 and will be dedicated to issues related to fisheries and to human trafficking.

The issues which will be dealt with at the Congress will express the preoccupation and attention being paid by the Apostleship of the Sea not only to analyzing the natural resources, but also and above all human resources, in particular those pertaining to fishermen who find themselves working in dehumanizing conditions and who sometimes end up in the hands of criminal organizations.

Father Bruno Ciceri, a Vatican Delegate to the Apostleship of the Sea, an official from the Dicastery for Integrated Human Development and an expert on the theme was available for questions.
